Product review: Simply Bee lotion bar

Simply Bee lotion bars prove that dynamite comes in small packages. Although it's compact, it packs more than enough nourishing punch.

Simply Bee is a South African brand, based in Hopefield, which specialises in a broad range of natural skincare and home care products, made using sustainably sourced honey, beeswax and bee propolis.

The Simply Bee lotion bar is a handy, pocket- and purse-sized solid natural hand & body lotion bar. The size makes it very convenient to keep on you or in your travel kit for on-the-go hydration and nourishment for your skin.

Packaging

What attracted me to this initially was the tin packaging. This product stood out to me as one of the few body lotion products not packaged in plastic. The lotion bar is wrapped in a piece of wax paper inside the tin to keep it from smearing. The tin can easily be reused for other purposes.

Content

The Simply Bee lotion bar contains beeswax, shea butter, sweet almond oil, lavender oil, neroli oil and ylang ylang oil. These are natural ingredients which are good for you, but also kind to the environment. People with any nut allergies must rather not use this product. Simply Bee also doesn't use palm oil and their products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. The lotion bar also has a lovely sweet and natural scent.

Functionality

It works by rubbing it in your hands so the warmth of your hands slowly melts the bar. This lotion bar is very rich and nourishing, so I prefer to use it on my hands and feet at night before going to bed. But it can be used throughout the day and is ideal to keep in your bag.

Overall impression

Overall, I am very impressed with this solid lotion bar. I did not think something in a solid form could be so nourishing and yet this product proved me wrong. Don't be discouraged by it's size. Because it is solid, very rich and you only use the right amount needed, it will last quite a while.
